India uses Afghan soil to destabilize Pakistan: Analysts
November 15, 2024

Dr. Muhammad Khan (Defense Analyst):

It is an open secret that India is sponsoring state terrorism and using Afghan soil in order to destabilize Pakistan. Pakistan played an important role to materialize the negotiation between the United States and Taliban that resulted in formation of the Taliban government. But after that Afghan government started playing with Pakistan as from 2001 till the withdrawal of NATO Forces, many Afghans took training in Indian military academies. The Afghan government in collaboration with Indian spy agency RAW started supporting the TTP through financial assistance, ammunition supplies and other means to carry out terrorist activities inside Pakistan. The international community is well aware of the fact that Afghanistan has become a safe haven for militant organizations including TTP, ISIS and other militant organizations. The presence of militant organizations in the war-torn country is not only a threat for the neighboring countries but for the entire world.

Asif Khan (Former DG, Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency):

Pakistan is not a big contributor to the carbon emission, yet facing worst consequences due to the climate change. In the COP-27, Lost and Damage Fund was established to compensate the suffering of the countries affected due to the climate change. But it is unfortunate that so far only 700 million dollars have been pledged whereas it was decided in COP-27 that funds of 100 billion dollars will be collected for the developing countries. It is also unfortunate that many Heads of States responsible for more carbon emission did not even attended the COP-29 held recently. It clearly indicates the non-serious attitude of the developed countries towards the climate change. The developing countries definitely need resources and technology to deal with the issue of climate change so the developed countries must be supported in this regard.
