The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that the BJP-led Indian regime is making relentless efforts to mislead global community regarding true situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued in Srinagar, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas said that India, in its desperation, sometimes blames Pakistan and at other times targets the Hurriyat camp to deflect attention from its state terrorism, political injustice and grave human rights violations.
He said the territory is witnessing an upsurge in arbitrary arrests during widespread cordon and search operations and house raids meant to instill fear among Kashmiris.
He further said the repressive laws are being deployed to stifle dissent and crush the Kashmiris' just demand for right to self-determination.
The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party in a letter written to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has drawn his attention towards rapidly worsening situation in occupied territory.
The letter said that Indian forces are resorting to extrajudicial killings, arbitrary detentions and collective punishment.
The letter urged Guterres to play a decisive role in resolving the long-standing Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
