Ministry for Climate Change has started a project worth 4.4 million dollars to enhance water quality monitoring system with the help of Korea International Cooperation Agency.

It was stated by Prime Minister's Coordinator on Climate Change Romina Khurshid Alam while addressing an event on the sidelines of COP29 Global Climate Summit in Baku today.

The project will be started in Islamabad, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and over sixty-two million people will be benefitted from this project.

It includes significant upgrades to water-quality testing laboratories, encompassing the procurement and installation of advanced laboratory equipment.

Romina Khurshid Alam said that Pakistan is facing a significant challenge, with almost 44% of the population lacking access to safe drinking water.
