Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar chaired the first meeting of the Steering Committee on Solarization of Tubewells.

The Deputy Prime Minister underlined the financial implications of unpaid electricity bills and illegal usage in Balochistan.

He highlighted the government’s decision to solarize 27,000 agricultural tube wells in Balochistan, with 70 percent financing from the Federal Government.  

This project demonstrates the government's commitment to renewable energy and combating climate change, and is a critical step towards a cleaner, more efficient and climate-resilient Pakistan.
