A leading Chinese construction company has expressed interest in investing in Pakistan’s maritime industry due to the support of Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).

In this regard, a proposal is under consideration to install a desalination plant at Port Qasim to convert seawater into potable water.

China has assured full cooperation with Pakistan in addressing the water shortage issue through the installation of a desalination plant which will not only help meet industrial needs but also fulfill domestic water requirements.
