Prime Minister's Coordinator on Climate Change Romina Khurshid Alam has said government is fully focused on the socio-economic development of mountain communities.

She was addressing a news conference in Islamabad today.

On this occasion, a new research study "The new inventory of 13,032 glaciers in Pakistan: the "glaciers and students' project" was also launched.

The study was carried out by the collaboration of experts from EvK2CNR, along with universities and government institutions in Gilgit-Baltistan, supported by Italian universities.

Coordinator to Prime Minister on Climate Change lauded the contribution of international partners in carrying out the comprehensive studies to develop the new glaciers inventory of Pakistan that has revealed the new remarkable number of 13032 glaciers in Pakistan.
