Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said automated systems will soon be installed in all sectors on the pattern of the Faceless Customs Assessment System established in Karachi.
He was talking to a delegation of Pakistan Business Council-led by Chairman Shabbir Diwan in Islamabad today.
The Prime Minister said bringing transparency to the service delivery process is one of the top priorities of the government. He said the government aspires for export-based economic growth and measures are being taken to increase exports.
Shehbaz Sharif stressed for bringing the locally produced raw material and other items at par with the international standards to increase exports. He said the introduction of IT and technology in all sectors is essential for economic development.
The Prime Minister said national development and economic stability depend on cooperation between the government and the business community. He said increasing revenue and expanding the tax base are being given priority.
The delegation commended the Prime Minister for recent economic stability in the country. Members of the delegation opined that the gradual reduction in the policy interest rate to twelve percent will auger well for the business in the country. They also declared the recently installed Faceless Customs Assessment System in Karachi a success.
The delegation said that Faceless Customs Assessment System has facilitated the business community and brought transparency to the clearance system. It welcomed the significant improvement in the performance of the Federal Board of Revenue after digitization and other reforms.
