Federal Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain has directed PASCO to ensure sale of stored wheat before arrival of the new crop to avoid any crisis.

Chairing a meeting at the PASCO head office in Lahore, he said its quality may deteriorate, resulting in potential financial losses for the national treasury, if not sold promptly.

Rana Tanveer Hussain said no negligence will be tolerated in the process of wheat sale.

The Minister expressed Government's commitment to protect agricultural production and ensure food security.

He said various steps are being taken for development of the agricultural sector, welfare of farmers and ensuring food security in the country.
