In New Zealand, the Khalistan Movement organized a protest against the incidents of genocide and brutalities by Indian government against Sikhs in 1984.

Thousands of Sikhs associated with the Khalistan movement participated in the protest.

On this occasion, the protestors raised the flags of the Khalistan movement and chanted high-pitched slogans against the Indian government.

Addressing the protesters on the occasion, the leaders emphasized the need for justice for the Sikhs and called the establishment of Khalistan essential for the community's freedom from Indian rule.

During the demonstration, the protesters also tore the Indian flag and threw it away.

The participants of the protest vowed to intensify the Khalistan movement and expose Indian conspiracies at the international level.

During the protest, the violent incidents that followed the assassination of Indira Gandhi in 1984 were recalled.

As a result of these violent incidents, more than three thousand Sikhs were killed, their properties looted and destroyed in three days.
